Cathie Wood Pours Money Into 3 “Strong Buy” Innovation Stocks

Stock picker and hedge manager Cathie Wood made some serious waves last year, when her ARK Innovation ETF outperformed the S&P 500 by an order of magnitude. From the pandemic trough in March to the end of 2020, the S&P gained 68%, while Wood’s flagship fund surged ahead by 153%. It was an astounding performance. Wood made smart choices last year, targeting tech companies, remote connections, and telehealth for investment. All of those segments saw big gains in business during the lockdown… Source link

Broncos QB Teddy Bridgewater carted off after scary injury

Teddy Bridgewater has been through so much already in his NFL career. Seeing him get carted off, strapped to a backboard, was a scary sight Sunday afternoon.  Bridgewater suffered a head injury in the third quarter of the Denver Broncos‘ game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He was down for a while before being carted off in front of the quiet crowd. The Broncos lost 15-10 to severely damage their playoff hopes, but the concern was for the popular Bridgewater and his health.  On the play he… Source link

One stat shows how hard it is to pick market-beating stocks

A version of this post was originally published on TKer.co. Picking stocks in an attempt to beat market averages is an incredibly challenging and sometimes money-losing effort. In fact, most professional stock pickers aren’t able to do this on a consistent basis.¹ One of the reasons for this is that most stocks don’t deliver above-average returns. According to S&P Dow Jones Indices, only 22% of the stocks in the S&P 500 outperformed the index itself from 2000 to 2020. “When a randomly… Source link

Ravens LB Odafe Oweh flagged for Aaron Rodgers shove

Defending Aaron Rodgers is hard enough. Holding pass rushers to this kind of standard makes it even harder. Baltimore Ravens rookie linebacker Odafe Oweh saw an incomplete pass turn into Green Bay Packers first down on Sunday, all thanks to a shove of Rodgers the officials called roughing the passer.  Here is the “hit” that drew the flag: That flag turned what would have been second-and-10 on the Ravens’ 18-yard line into first-and-goal, which the Packers converted into a game-tying touchdown… Source link

Jaguars move into No. 1 pick slot with Lions’ win

The Detroit Lions are no longer in the pole position of the 2022 NFL draft. The suddenly plucky Lions have now won two of their past three games, including Sunday’s stunning 30-12 victory over the first-place Arizona Cardinals, which has bumped them up to a 2-11-1 record — sliding them into the No. 2 overall pick in next year’s draft (for now). And with three weeks remaining in the regular season, the Jacksonville Jaguars are now in the draft’s driver’s seat — again — thanks to their… Source link

Tiger Woods makes triumphant return to golf with son Charlie

A red-and-black-clad Woods tore up the course at the PNC Championship Sunday … and it wasn’t Tiger. Twelve-year-old Charlie Woods officially stepped onto golf’s world stage Sunday afternoon. He might become a professional golfer in his father’s footsteps, or he might just end up playing the game for fun. Either way, right now he’s the talk of the sport, and justifiably so.   Tiger and Charlie fell to the duo of John Daly and son John Daly II, but the tournament came down to the final two… Source link

Jets pull off terrific hook-and-lateral pass vs. Miami

The New York Jets, owners of one of the weaker offenses in the NFL this season, were 0-for-15 on third downs of 15-plus yards entering Sunday’s game.  So credit to them for trying something pretty novel to solve their third-and-long issue against the Miami Dolphins in Week 15. Leading 17-10, the Jets faced third-and-15 at their own 20-yard line. And that’s when they unleashed this puppy out of nowhere: Wow! Your natural inclination might have been to check the clock — final few seconds of… Source link
