Tom Brady still getting trolled by C.J. Gardner-Johnson

Shutting Tom Brady out wasn’t enough for C.J. Gardner-Johnson. A day after intercepting the seven-time Super Bowl champion in a stunning 9-0 shutout, the New Orleans Saints cornerback was still going after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback. During the game, Brady took out the frustrations of his first shutout loss since 2006 on a sideline tablet (see the video below). On Monday, Gardner-Johnson was kind enough to reach out to Microsoft to see if it could hook up Brady with a new… Source link

Depleted Browns fight hard but lose to Raiders on last play

The Cleveland Browns have nothing to be ashamed of.  They lost on Monday, but there wasn’t much they could do. The Browns had 18 players, including eight starters, on the COVID-19 list. They were down to third-string quarterback Nick Mullens, who was signed from the practice squad on Thursday and finally got to practice with the first-team offense on Saturday. Coach Kevin Stefanski was even ruled out. And the Browns led in the fourth quarter, somehow. Mullens hit a fourth-down touchdown pass… Source link

John Harbaugh consulted Tyler Huntley on 2-point attempt

The great debate over going for two found fresh fodder on Sunday when the Baltimore Ravens gambled the outcome of their game against the Green Bay Packers on one final play.  Video released on Monday showed how the decision went down on the Baltimore sideline. After the Ravens scored a late touchdown to cut their deficit to 31-30, head coach John Harbaugh rolled the dice on a two-point conversion with the game on the line. Convert, and they take the lead with 42 seconds remaining. Fail, and… Source link

Google is turning off the controls for OnHub routers at the end of 2022

Google’s insistence on cloud-based controls for its networking products has occasionally caused issues, even though it was supposed to make life with OnHub routers simple. Now it will be a reason pushing anyone still using the OnHub to find a replacement by the end of next year when Google’s apps stop allowing owners to change the settings on their devices. An email went out to users, and a support page revealed the changeover is scheduled for December 19th, 2022 (via Droid-Life).

WTA standing up to China is laudable

Some things are more important than money. It seems as though we hear a lot of people and companies say that, but very few actually act on it. For too many, when push comes to shove, the money is just too enticing. The Women’s Tennis Association, or WTA Tour, is showing what that practice really looks like as it stands up to global giant China in defense of one of its players, Peng Shuai.  There’s a lot of concern for Peng’s well-being right now, after the 35-year-old took to Weibo, China’s… Source link

What record-breaking Google searches showed us about AAPI issues in 2021

Newly released data on Google trending searches showed record-breaking searches related to Asian Americans in 2021. As anti-Asian hate spiked amid the coronavirus pandemic, Google’s data showed that searches for the term “Asian American” increased by over 5,000 percent, what the company defines as a “breakout search.” In addition, searches for “what is a hate crime” hit record highs in March, the same month eight people — six of them Asian women — were killed at three… Source link

PHILADELPHIA — Barrett Scheffler hopped in his Mazda CX-5 on Friday morning in Columbus, Ohio, halfway through a road trip to Philadelphia to see a football game. It was, at the time, two days away. Manchin killing Build Back Better is ‘devastating’ to climate change action, experts say

When Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., announced on Fox News on Sunday that he won’t vote for the current version of Build Back Better, experts predicted he may have single-handedly killed the world’s best hope of avoiding catastrophic climate change. In order to avoid breaching the 1.5 degrees Celsius threshold that will trigger a cascade of devastating effects, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has said that global emissions of the greenhouse gasses that cause climate change must… Source link
