Raiders decline options on all 3 2019 first-round picks

Raiders decline options on all 3 2019 first-round picks

In the afterglow of the NFL draft, everyone thinks their team’s rookie class will work out great. If you have multiple first-round picks, the sky is the limit. Just wait until the optimistic draft grades for each of those teams that picked more than once in the first round on Thursday. It would be great if the NFL was that easy. The Las Vegas Raiders know it’s not. In 2019, the Raiders had just traded edge rusher Khalil Mack and receiver Amari Cooper, but they were awash in first-round picks…. Source link

Bengals, under bettors happy over Raiders FG

The Las Vegas Raiders‘ decision to kick a late field goal was debatable. Cincinnati Bengals bettors won’t debate it.  With 3:37 left, the Raiders trailed 26-16 in Saturday’s AFC wild-card game. They had fourth-and-3 from the Bengals’ 10. The Raiders needed a touchdown and a field goal at that point, but it’s a lot harder to go the length of the field and score a touchdown. They could have gone for the touchdown there, at the risk of the game being practically over if they didn’t get it on… Source link

Bengals stop Raiders late, end 32-year playoff win drought

The streak is over.  The Cincinnati Bengals beat the Las Vegas Raiders 26-19 in Saturday’s AFC wild-card matchup, earning their first postseason victory since 1991 and ending an eight-game playoff losing streak that dated back more than three decades. The game came down to the final moments, partially thanks to a questionable roughing-the-passer call against the Bengals on the Raiders’ Derek Carr and keeping alive a game replete with shaky whistles. But Carr took advantage, converting… Source link

Depleted Browns fight hard but lose to Raiders on last play

The Cleveland Browns have nothing to be ashamed of.  They lost on Monday, but there wasn’t much they could do. The Browns had 18 players, including eight starters, on the COVID-19 list. They were down to third-string quarterback Nick Mullens, who was signed from the practice squad on Thursday and finally got to practice with the first-team offense on Saturday. Coach Kevin Stefanski was even ruled out. And the Browns led in the fourth quarter, somehow. Mullens hit a fourth-down touchdown pass… Source link
