Russian internet giant Yandex has been the target of a record-breaking distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack by a new botnet called Mēris. The botnet is believed to have pummeled the company’s web infrastructure with millions of HTTP requests, before hitting a peak of 21.8 million requests per second (RPS), dwarfing a recent botnet-powered attack that came to light last month, bombarding an unnamed Cloudflare customer in the financial industry with 17.2 million RPS. Big Oil is coming off yet another blockbuster season, posting the second consecutive quarter of stellar top-and-bottom line growth. The Tour de France descended into chaos Saturday after a careless fan caused a massive crash at the event when their sign hit one of the riders. The fan was posing for the camera with the sign, and not watching the race when a rider collided with the sign. With all the riders packed so close together, the impact of the crash was massive.  At least one bike was damaged as a result of the crash. Foot Locker (FL) is prepared to ride the coattails of serious momentum at key vendor Nike, analysts contend.  On Thursday evening, Nike reported record sales in North America for its fourth fiscal quarter.
