FEC draft OKs Google plan to keep campaign emails out of spam

Google’s proposed program to help keep campaign emails out of users’ spam folders wouldn’t violate campaign finance laws, the Federal Election Commission said Wednesday. Driving the news: Google in June asked the commission to rule on whether its plan would be considered a sort of contribution to politcial campaigns, as Axios reported. The FEC’s draft answer says it would be lawful for Google to offer the pilot program to eligible participants. The commission still has to vote to adopt this… Source link

Behind the madcap craze of massive NBA draft picks packages

Who were the Minnesota Timberwolves competing against when they traded three playoff rotational players and the rights to seven of their first-round draft picks from this decade for 30-year-old center Rudy Gobert? The inside story of how Paolo Banchero became the NBA’s No. 1 draft pick

LAS VEGAS — Orlando Magic rookie Paolo Banchero was satisfied with what he was hearing leading up to the 2022 NBA draft. “Just all the stuff that was being put out there was that I was going No. 3 to Houston,” Banchero told Yahoo Sports after he was shut down from Summer League competition after two games. “That’s kind of where my mind was at, and I was fine with it. Cowboys’ draft board leaked again thanks to Jerry Jones

Occasionally, NFL draft twitter can be wonderful. Tuesday was one of those days. Using a fuzzy, grainy and mostly illegible picture posted to Twitter by WFAA sports anchor Mike Leslie, a swath of fans, reporters and Dallas Cowboys-related websites spent hours Tuesday afternoon decoding the team’s draft board on social media. The end result was a remarkably entertaining thread that, by all accounts, appears to have decoded a large part of the top end of the Dallas draft board (which you can… Source link

NFL draft winners and losers: Patriots baffle everyone

Pretty much no matter which draft grade you want to read, the New England Patriots finished at the bottom or near it. And that’s where the problem begins. Bill Belichick and the Patriots have been doing things their own way for 20 years, probably going back to cutting Lawyer Milloy when everyone thought they were crazy. It turned out pretty well for them. They’ve done it their own way, and their way resulted in the greatest dynasty in major American professional team sports. Therefore, every… Source link

The Green Bay Packers granted Matt LaFleur’s request for speed at wide receiver during the 2022 NFL draft. At the NFL Annual Meetings last month, LaFleur said the Packers needed to add speed to help replace Marquez Valdes-Scantling, the offense’s top deep threat. A month later, Brian Gutekunst obliged, taking two of the fastest on-field players at the Senior Bowl in Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs. “Certainly, if you look at our roster right now, we definitely need to get some speed in… Source link
