What made Warren Buffett rich is making us all poorer

Sky-high gas prices are surfacing memories of a bygone era — the 1970s — defined by bellbottoms, disco music and (you guessed it) gas lines. Modern motorists might pine for the prospect of 50-cent a gallon unleaded gas that the decade averaged, but don’t compare that to the $4-plus a gallon we’re shelling out ($5 in California!) today. For a true apples-to-apples price comparison, it’s worth reviewing a concept that not only made Warren Buffett fabulously rich — but also makes us all a… Source link

Yield curve briefly inverted for first time since 2019

The market’s most closely watched part of the yield curve inverted very briefly on Tuesday. At 1:33 p.m. ET on Tuesday afternoon, Bloomberg data showed the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury note (^TNX) briefly dipping below the yield on the 2-year U.S. Treasury. The inversion lasted only a few seconds, and by 3:00 p.m. ET (the settlement time for U.S. government bond futures) the curve remained un-inverted with about 0.05% separating the two securities’ yields. One of the questions submitted to Mueller asks if there’s a direct ranking advantage for improved accessibility. The question specifically asks about links that are visually separated from textual content with features like increased font weight, underlining, and… Source link

Over the weekend, Elon Musk said something outlandish. I know what you’re thinking: Be more specific. Well, this time the Tesla CEO indicated he might launch a social network — or, at the very least, wouldn’t rule it out. “Am giving serious thought to this,” he replied to a Twitter user who asked whether Musk would consider building his own rival platform. Trump solicits Putin’s help to expose alleged dirt on Hunter Biden

In what has become a familiar pattern, former President Donald Trump has once again solicited help from a foreign leader in exposing possible dirt to try to wound a political enemy. MLB players to avoid at ADP

Let’s establish some disclaimers before we dive into today’s topic, the 2022 Fantasy Baseball Fade List. The goal is to outline good players who I’m still unlikely to roster often, if at all, in 2022. This doesn’t make these players untalented; it’s just pointless to give you a collection of fades with lagging ADPs. There’s no utility in that. Most fantasy analysts will tell you it’s usually about the acquisition cost, not about the player. If you can land some of these names well… Source link
