Buffalo Bills’ new stadium deal is all kinds of bad

In the state of New York, if you want to receive public assistance — you know, money from state or local authorities to help keep a roof over heads or food in refrigerators — there are conditions that recipients must meet. And not just you, but any adult who lives with you. Can’t have poor people getting a free ride, you see, no matter how the system is set up to make sure the poor stay poor. When wealthy people want public assistance, well, that’s a different story. On Monday, New York… Source link

Google Docs is getting Markdown support for headings, formatting, and more

Google is adding Markdown support to Google Docs on the web, letting you format your document using text shortcuts rather than keyboard ones. In a blog post announcing the feature, Google says it’s doing this through its autocorrect feature, so it will automatically format the text for you after you type it in Markdown format. For example, if you type “# Google Docs is getting more Markdown support” it’ll automatically get converted to a level one heading. Google says that Docs… Source link

Musk had earlier criticized Twitter. “Given that Twitter serves as the de facto public town square, failing to adhere to free… Source link

‘There are more efficient ways’ to make the rich pay more, economist says

Liquidity issues would make President Joe Biden’s proposed “billionaire tax” difficult to execute, Tyler Goodspeed, former acting chairman and vice chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, told Yahoo Finance Live in a recent interview. “I think my main reaction is, it strikes me as a little bit gimmicky in an election year,” he said. “Look, if you think that billionaires should be paying more in taxes, then I think you should be seriously considering an elimination of the step up… Source link

The Federal Trade Commission filed a lawsuit against TurboTax creator Intuit (INTU) this week, claiming its deceptive “free tax filing” ads are misleading American taxpayers. The consumer protection agency alleged that Intuit’s advertising practices purposely guided consumers to seek out free filing services on TurboTax that weren’t actually available to them. Instead, they were steered to the company’s paid products. With tax day barely a month away, the FTC has also filed a federal… Source link

He’s all… Source link
