Google Pixel Buds A-Series getting more options with firmware update

Google is releasing an update for its Pixel Buds A-Series wireless headphones, which will add a bass slider, a loudness compensation setting for better bass and treble response at low volumes, and a nice connectivity improvement (via Droid-Life). Given that the buds are only $99 (or free, if you got them with a Pixel 6 or 6 Pro preorder), it’s nice to see Google adding new features through software updates. As we learned earlier today, the Pixel Buds will be getting more control over… Source link

Brandon Staley’s Joey Bosa decision for Chargers is good

In a perfect world, Brandon Staley will be the coach the Chargers franchise has been searching for for nearly its entire existence. He’ll finally get the team back to the Super Bowl, and even win it. It may not happen this year, especially since it’s been over 30 years since a rookie head coach won the Super Bowl, and George Seifert’s 49ers still had Joe Montana and Jerry Rice. It may not happen next year. But if Staley has success, it will hopefully lead to the NFL — a league that has a… Source link

Stock futures build on gains after rally

Stock futures opened higher on Monday after a rally earlier in the session, with volatility stemming from concerns about the Omicron variant at least momentarily abating.  Contracts on the Dow extended gains. Earlier, the index ended higher by nearly 650 points, or 1.9%, as cyclical names that had underperformed in recent session rebounded strongly. Google and Uber delay office returns amid omicron uncertainty – The Washington Post

For companies whose employees are still toiling from their couches at home, the question of when to bring their full workforces back to the office has become even trickier. In a pandemic when many decisions have hinged on risk tolerance, the coronavirus’s new omicron variant has complicated the process of calculating those hazards. Major corporations that had planned to shepherd all their employees back into offices in early 2022 now have to decide whether those dates make sense in light of… Source link

(AP Photo/Steve Helber) The last 12 months did not go as anybody planned. BuzzFeed workers slam company as it goes public

Digital media company BuzzFeed (BZFD) went public on Monday after a SPAC merger that valued the firm at $1.5 billion, setting it apart from peers like Vox and Vice that remain private. But some employees aren’t celebrating. The milestone comes days after dozens of workers at the outlet’s news division, which won a Pulitzer Prize this year, walked off the job in protest of a move they say enriches executives while the company refuses a union contract that would raise salaries for employees… Source link

So if you don’t have that, you won’t be able to see it. The new indicator appears in the top right corner of the screen. You’ll see a camera or… Source link

The metaverse will be disruptive to society once it gains its true form over the next decade Jefferies analyst Simon Powell argues.
