The billionaire who hired Jerome Powell decades ago says he’d probably be happy if you lost your job

In the late 1990s, Jerome Powell got a new job as partner at the Carlyle Group, one of the world’s biggest private equity firms, with a massive $11 billion market cap and even bigger $376 billion of assets under management.
