Week 12 sees Kansas City and Arizona on a bye, and Thanksgiving and the usual Sunday and Monday night games take away 10 teams from our main slate. New weekly jobless claims came in slightly higher than expected but still eked out a new pandemic-era low, with the weekly rate of those rendered newly out-of-work coming closer to pre-virus levels.  The Labor Department released its jobless claims report Thursday. Investors this week will be focused on data on the consumer, with both retail sales and earnings results from two retail giants set for release.  The total value of retail sales in the U.S. is expected to have climbed by 1.1% month-on-month in October, according to the Commerce Department’s latest monthly print on Tuesday. There’s one word to describe what happened with the mostly surprising results of Week 9 in the NFL: Brutal. After rolling of late with our game picks and predictions against the spread, Vegas put up a few traps and it was hard to avoid falling into all of them.
