LeBron James, others may skip start of season if it tips off in December

LeBron James looked every bit the best player in the NBA — still, at age 35 — on his way to winning another championship and Finals MVP. One theory as to why LeBron looked so good this past season was rest: For the first time in 14 years, he had a full offseason to recover (no playoffs) heading into the start of the season, then the coronavirus gave him a forced rest in the middle of it. That kept some older legs fresh. Whether you buy that or not, rest certainly matters to LeBron, which… Source link

NHL’s only Black female scout on first LA Kings season

Blake Bolden didn’t expect her job to involve bubble hockey. No one who works in the NHL did. For Bolden, as just the second woman scout in the NHL and the first Black woman, her first season with the Los Angeles Kings was a whirlwind in particular. “It’s like being on a new team,” she said. “And it is a new team, it’s like it’s been my whole life. This time you’re not playing, but you are aiming for a common goal.” It’s not often scouts in any sport are asked to do their… Source link

Yahoo Sports has Bears pegged for another mediocre season in 2020

It’s safe to say that there aren’t many people that feel confident about the Chicago Bears heading into 2020. After an impressive 2018 season where they went 12-4, the Bears stumbled to an 8-8 finish amid a myriad of concerns, particularly on offense. Still, despite having one of the worst offenses in the league and a top-10 defense minus three key starters, the Bears managed to finish the season .500, which should be encouraging in itself. Yahoo Sports’ Frank Schwab believes that, now… Source link
