Clayton Kershaw’s would-be perfect game draws mixed reactions

Clayton Kershaw’s would-be perfect game draws mixed reactions

Clayton Kershaw faced a shot at baseball history on Wednesday. He came up two innings short. Not because of his performance on the mound. But because of a decision by Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. The three-time Dodgers Cy Young winner had a chance to add a coveted line to his already illustrious résumé with a perfect game through seven innings against the Minnesota Twins. But 80 pitches into his start, Roberts pulled him, opting to prioritize Kershaw’s health over a chance at… Source link

Last perfect NCAA tournament bracket goes down

After Thursday’s first day of NCAA tournament action, only 14 perfect Yahoo Tourney Pick’Em brackets remained. By Friday afternoon, there were none. An entry named Go Back To Webster Ave. was the last bracket standing after Miami edged USC, 68-66 on Friday. It was the only bracket to correctly pick the tournament’s first 22 games. That means that they picked No. 15 St. Peter’s to beat No. 2 Kentucky, No. 12 New Mexico to beat No. 5 UConn and No. 12 Richmond to beat No. 5 Iowa — impressive… Source link

Did No. 15 seed St. Peters ruin your hopes of a perfect men’s tournament bracket? You weren’t alone. After a day of March Madness, only 14 perfect brackets remain in Yahoo Tourney Pick’Em. By far the biggest bracket-buster was St. Peter’s, the small school from Jersey City, New Jersey that took down college basketball juggernaut Kentucky, a No. 2 seed, in an 85-79 thriller. To get a sense of the scale of upset we’re dealing with here, consider that Kentucky head coach John Calipari’s salary is… Source link

Bills win over Pats was 1st ‘perfect’ offensive game in NFL history

The Buffalo Bills handed the New England Patriots an embarrassing 47-17 wild-card loss on Saturday night, and in the process they made NFL history.  They became the first team ever to have a perfect offensive performance. They scored touchdowns on every single one of their possessions (except the kneel downs at the end of the game). They didn’t face a single fourth down in the entire game, so they had no punts or field goals. They also held onto the ball when they had it, turning the ball… Source link

Thanks to this deal, the studio will now have full ownership of the rocker’s entire… Source link

Apple stock is smack in the middle of a perfect storm: strategist

Even with Apple’s stock (APPL) cooling down a touch this week as the company flirted with a $3 trillion market cap for the first time, pros say several positives remain in the cards that are likely to push shares higher soon. “It is entirely possible that we are seeing the perfect storm for Apple bulls into year-end. The obvious consideration is that institutional investors are plowing into Apple in a FOMO [fear of missing out] driven frenzy. What institutional fund manager would want to… Source link
