Costco may be about 9 months away from raising membership fees: analyst

Costco (COST) could be nearing its first increase in membership fees in some five years.  “We believe we are now 8-9 months away from a likely membership fee increase, a historical catalyst for the shares. As is well known, Costco has increased its annual membership fee every five and a half years by $5-10. On this timetable, the next hike would come in August-September 2022. Costco may be ‘poised’ to increase membership fees

Costco (COST) may be about to put the burden on its members to pay for higher worker wages. The warehouse retailer could be “poised” to lift its membership fees within the next 18-months, Wells Fargo analysts said in a research note this week.
