Judge in gender-bias suit OKs class action

A state court judge has approved class-action status for a long-running lawsuit accusing Google of paying certain female employees less than men. The decision this week by San Francisco County Superior Court Judge Andrew Cheng opens the way for more than 10,000 women who have worked at Google after 2012 to join the suit first filed in 2017 by several former employees. Lawsuit against Russell Westbrook thrown out by judge

The two fans banned from Utah Jazz games after a verbal altercation with Russell Westbrook aren’t going to get $100 million from the Washington Wizards guard. A judge reportedly threw out a lawsuit filed by those fans Thursday, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.  The two fans – Shane Keisel and Jennifer Huff — filed a lawsuit against Westbrook alleging defamation and infliction of emotional stress. A U.S. judge on Thursday dismissed antitrust claims against Alphabet Inc’s (GOOGL.O) Google brought by a group of advertisers, but offered them a chance to try again after addressing what she called “serious concerns.” The ruling by District Judge Beth Labson Freeman in San Jose, California, marks one of the first major decisions in a spate of antitrust cases filed against Google over the last two years by users and rivals as well as the U.S. Department of Justice and state attorneys general.
