CES, the world’s largest technology show, appears to be in jeopardy due to rising COVID-19 cases in the United States. Google is finally allowing Stadia players to join multiplayer games without needing an invite. This basic feature is available on most console platforms and PC launchers, but it has taken Google nearly two years to add it to Stadia. A new support page confirms the feature is live in Far Cry 6 on Stadia, so friends can join you without you having to dig into menus and issue an invite. Google mentions the feature is only available in “select games,” and is disabled by default.

Cryptocurrency lending company BlockFi is partnering with investment manager Neuberger Berman to launch a series of crypto investment products, like exchange-traded funds (ETFs), which are taking the digital currency market by storm. Only weeks ago, BlockFi filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission to list its “BlockFi Bitcoin Strategy ETF,” which kicks off a 75-day regulatory approval process. Satellite operator Planet Labs is beefing up its existing partnership with Google Cloud. Under a new agreement, Planet customers can use Google Cloud to store and process data, and access Google’s other products such as its data analytics warehouse BigQuery. The two companies’ collaboration stretches back to 2017, when Google sold its satellite imaging business, Terra Bella, to Planet.
