Why Grand Theft Auto maker Take-Two is buying Zynga for $12.7 billion

Wall Street sees the rationale behind Take-Two’s $12.7 billion deal to buy Zynga, even if traders hate the transaction at first blush. “Take-Two is using its balance sheet and equity to opportunistically buy a good mobile asset in a depressed market,” said Jefferies analyst Andrew Uerkwitz.  The Grand Theft Automaker said it would pay a 64% premium to scoop up Words With Friends developer Zynga, using a mix of cash and stock. Google’s Grand Plan to Eliminate Third-Party Cookies Has a Big Problem Other Browsers Aren’t Biting

Google’s plan to replace third-party cookies is–on one level–really quite brilliant. Google’s entire business depends heavily on the ability to track users in order to identify their interests, and then show them “personalized ads” based on their web activity. The third-party cookie is a huge part of that business, which means it makes sense Google would want to be leading the way on whatever replaces it. Cookies, if you remember, are little snippets of code that websites use to identify… Source link
