Google has announced $20 million in new commitments to expand computer science education among communities that are underrepresented in the field. The company expects its funds to improve educational access for more than 11 million American students. “If we don’t get this right, the gaps that exist today will be exacerbated,” Google CEO Sundar Pichai said on Wednesday. “Technology will end up playing such a big role in the future. That’s the fundamental reason we do it.”

Google has launched a website for its Read Along app for encouraging young children to practice reading. The website, which is introduced as a public beta, works with Chrome, Firefox, and Edge browsers on Desktop and Android, with support for iOS and more browsers such as Safari coming soon. Remember Bishop Sycamore? The high school football team no one had heard of that lost 58-0 to IMG Academy in a game that was somehow broadcast on ESPN? The Education Department rolled out a series of major changes to the troubled Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program for student loan borrowers in public service in October, and the level of debt cancellation is topping even the government’s estimates.
