Cowboys looking for 1 of 2 Sunday-result combos

The Dallas Cowboys did their part, now they have to wait for the results of three different Sunday afternoon games to learn who they will be facing in the wild card round. By virtue of a 51-26 thumping of the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night, Dallas earned their 12th victory of the 2021 season and finished the NFC East at 6-0 for just the third time in club history. The Eagles, already locked into the No. 6 or No. 7 seed and without definitive control over which seed it would get, put 12… Source link

Chiefs, Cowboys, North Dakota State odds

Will we get a close football game on Saturday? Just one of the three games on the docket has a point spread less than a touchdown at BetMGM as the NFL begins Week 18 and the FCS champion is crowned. Let’s start with the NFL, which kicks off Week 18 with the Kansas City Chiefs’ trip to Denver (4:30 p.m. ET, ESPN/ABC). The Chiefs are favored by 10.5 points as they hope to get the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs and the Broncos are already eliminated from playoff contention. The Chiefs need to… Source link

Bucs, Cowboys, Chiefs have tough week

Between the 2013 and 2019 seasons, all 14 Super Bowl teams had first-round byes. From 1990 to 2019, the last season of the 12-team playoff field in which two teams in each conference got byes, 80 percent of Super Bowl participants had byes (h/t to CBS Sports).  Stories like the 2020 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a wild-card team that won a Super Bowl, did happen. But it was rare. Teams with byes had a big advantage, for obvious reasons. Then the NFL expanded the playoff field, taking that edge teams… Source link

Why Dallas Cowboys Hall of Fame QB Troy Aikman is taking on Big Beer

Dallas Cowboys NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman is ready to take on Big Beer names such as Budweiser and MolsonCoors with the same intensity as he did long-time rivals the New York Giants on a Sunday primetime matchup.  Well sort of, but you get the point.  Aikman, 55, revealed Tuesday he will be launching EIGHT beer after two years of developing the product along with award-winning brewmaster and beer industry veteran Phil Leinhart. Billed as suds for the modern beer drinker — in… Source link

Cardinals top Cowboys with aid of late missed call

The Dallas Cowboys entered Sunday leading the NFL in yards and points per game.  The Arizona Cardinals did not care.  In a matchup of two teams with their playoff dates secured, the Cardinals stymied a previously red-hot Cowboys offense in a 25-22 road win. They also caught a late break when officials missed a fumble that could have given Dallas a chance to tie or take the lead in the game’s final moments.  Mike McCarthy couldn’t challenge late missed fumble With 2:44 remaining in regulation… Source link

Let’s not overreact to Cowboys

We overreact to just about everything each week in the NFL. It’s part of the charm.   If you want a perfect formula for a grand overreaction, this was it: A good Dallas Cowboys team playing an incredible game in prime time, piling up 56 points as the offensive stars shined, the defense was dominant and the special teams even made the highlights. A 56-14 win over any team catches everyone’s attention.  And away we go.  You’re going to hear “Cowboys” and “Super Bowl” together a lot this week…. Source link

Dallas Cowboys defense creates NFL’s scariest playoff team

Back in September, shortly after DeMarcus Lawrence was limping off a practice field with a broken foot, he tapped out a hopeful-but-entirely-predictable social media post to raise the spirits of the Dallas Cowboys faithful. It was the kind of thing that is widely shared but scarcely believed when it comes to this franchise, a team that has seen for decades its best-laid plans break down. “Will be back and ready for war,” Lawrence tweeted. “Believe it.” What Lawrence and the Cowboys… Source link

Cowboys light up Sunday Night Football

5 Things I care about Cowboys prove they’re as dangerous as anyone The Cowboys came into Week 16 with a defense that ranked No. 1 in EPA per play allowed and an offense that kept having the word “slump” attached to it. They’ll leave Week 16 with only one of those. If you told an uninformed viewer that one of the quarterbacks playing tonight had a 5:5 touchdown-to-interception ratio over the last month, they’d have never guessed it was Dak Prescott. From the opening whistle to the… Source link

Micah Parson is a star for Cowboys

Last season, the Dallas Cowboys‘ defense was a joke. It allowed 473 points, the most in franchise history.  There are many reasons the Cowboys’ defense has now become a reason for optimism heading toward the postseason. A coordinator change to Dan Quinn helped a lot. Trevon Diggs became a Pro Bowl-level corner in his second season. But no rookie, on offense or defense, has made a bigger impact than Micah Parsons.  Parsons doesn’t look like a rookie. He looks like an All-Pro. He had a play… Source link
