Chiefs are 7.5-point favorites over Bengals

Oddsmakers aren’t putting much stock in the Bengals’ regular-season win over the Chiefs. Kansas City is a 7.5-point favorite over Cincinnati in the AFC championship game despite the Bengals’ 34-31 win in Week 17. The Chiefs are hosting the AFC title game for a record fourth consecutive season after defeating the Buffalo Bills, 42-36, in an overtime thriller that will go down as one of the best playoff games in NFL history. The Bengals advanced to the AFC championship game with a 19-16… Source link

Chiefs’ Tyreek Hill fined $13K for pom-pom celebration

Tyreek Hill’s pom-pom celebration has cost him. The NFL fined the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver $12,875 on Saturday after he used a cheerleader’s pom-poms to celebrate a touchdown in their wild-card win last week, according to the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Hill scored on a 31-yard pass from Patrick Mahomes in the third quarter of Kansas City’s 42-21 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the wild-card round last week. While celebrating in the end zone, Hill grabbed a Chiefs… Source link

Bills vs. Chiefs is a tough call

Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs is a phenomenal divisional round matchup. You can tell by the point spread.  The Chiefs opened as 2.5-point favorites at BetMGM, and that moved to -1.5 by Wednesday. Think about that: The team that has Patrick Mahomes, has played in the past two Super Bowls and has won 10 of 11 is seeing the betting line move against them.  Just because it’s a big game — and this could well be the biggest game of the entire season before the Super Bowl — doesn’t mean… Source link

Five of the six Wild Card games are in the books, and they certainly did not finish without controversy. Chiefs survive Broncos, keep hopes for AFC playoff bye alive

The Kansas City Chiefs certainly didn’t make it easy on themselves, but the top seed in the AFC is still in play. The Chiefs edged out a tight 28-24 win over the Denver Broncos on Saturday afternoon to close out their regular season, marking their 13th straight win over the Broncos. All they need now is for the Houston Texans to beat the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, and the first round bye is theirs. After trailing throughout most of the game, and seemingly about to give up another touchdown… Source link

Chiefs, Cowboys, North Dakota State odds

Will we get a close football game on Saturday? Just one of the three games on the docket has a point spread less than a touchdown at BetMGM as the NFL begins Week 18 and the FCS champion is crowned. Let’s start with the NFL, which kicks off Week 18 with the Kansas City Chiefs’ trip to Denver (4:30 p.m. ET, ESPN/ABC). Bucs, Cowboys, Chiefs have tough week

Between the 2013 and 2019 seasons, all 14 Super Bowl teams had first-round byes. From 1990 to 2019, the last season of the 12-team playoff field in which two teams in each conference got byes, 80 percent of Super Bowl participants had byes (h/t to CBS Sports).  Stories like the 2020 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a wild-card team that won a Super Bowl, did happen. But it was rare. Teams with byes had a big advantage, for obvious reasons. Then the NFL expanded the playoff field, taking that edge teams… Source link

Should Chiefs have let Bengals score?

Andy Reid wouldn’t answer. Perhaps he was too frustrated. Perhaps he didn’t quite understand. His Kansas City Chiefs had just lost a roller-coaster of a football game to the Cincinnati Bengals. Two frenzied final minutes of goal-line stands, controversial fourth-down decisions, costly penalties and a game-winning field goal had prompted several questions. Among them: Before it all began, with the score tied at 31, should the Chiefs have simply let the Bengals score? That was the question Reid… Source link

Bengals can prove themselves vs. Chiefs

The best of the Cincinnati Bengals is hard to ignore.  When the Bengals have been clicking this season, it makes you wonder how high their ceiling is. Last week, the Bengals blasted the Baltimore Ravens 41-21, completing an impressive season sweep. The Ravens were shorthanded, but Joe Burrow throwing for 525 yards was still eye-opening. The Bengals have looked great at times. Consistency hasn’t been a strong suit though.  If the Bengals want to be taken seriously, this is the type of game… Source link
