Dubbed the “hot honey duo,” the latest entrants into the chicken sandwich wars will retail for $5.99 (chicken sandwich) and $3.19 (chicken biscuit), hitting Wendy’s locations nationwide on February 8th. Stretched valuations, coupled with the threat of rising interest rates, have landed technology stocks into trouble to start the new year. And although Microsoft (MSFT) on Tuesday bucked a trend of lackluster fourth quarter results, DataTrek Research thinks a couple of factors are sending the popular sector into a downward spiral, which aren’t likely to be offset by encouraging earnings. That could spell bad news for Meta (FB), Google (GOOG), Tesla (TSLA) and Apple (AAPL): the last two report… Source link

In the fall of 2019, Google told the world it had reached “quantum supremacy.” It was a significant scientific milestone that some compared to the first flight at Kitty Hawk. Harnessing the mysterious powers of quantum mechanics, Google had built a computer that needed only three minutes and 20 seconds to perform a calculation that normal computers couldn’t complete in 10,000 years. But more than two years after Google’s announcement, the world is still waiting for a quantum computer… Source link

It is colossally unfair to put a second-year quarterback’s name in the same sentence as the two greatest to play the game. But if you watched Joe Burrow on Saturday night, when he was sacked nine times and hit 13, yet still had the calm to stand in the pocket and deliver a 19-yard pass to put the Cincinnati Bengals in game-winning field-goal range, it was hard not to see Joe Montana and Tom Brady. The stage, the pressure, the stakes. And Burrow stepped up into the pocket and found super rookie… Source link

The Arizona Cardinals‘ night was already going really bad, and then it reached ridiculous levels on one of the worst plays you’ll see a quarterback make in the playoffs. The Los Angeles Rams led 14-0 and had the Cardinals backed up, facing a third-and-7. Kyler Murray went back to pass and held the ball an impossibly long time looking for a receiver. Eventually linebacker Troy Reeder got to Murray and started to wrap him up for what would have been a sack and safety. It got worse. Murray… Source link

The Federal Reserve hasn’t done anything with interest rates yet, but bank earnings released Friday show that the mere anticipation of a pullback in easy money policies is weighing on the industry. On Friday, three of the nation’s four largest banks reported earnings covering the final quarter of 2021: JPMorgan Chase (JPM), Citigroup (C), and Wells Fargo (WFC). At Wells Fargo, bread-and-butter loans and strong expense management made the San Francisco-based bank the only stock winner among… Source link

The U.S. International Trade Commission ruled on January 6 that Google infringed Sonos’ patented innovations in wireless speaker technology. This may sound like an obscure legal ruling about a complicated fight over intellectual property. But it confirms a problem that threatens America’s innovation… Source link
