With the second half of the NBA season starting this week, Joel Embiid insists he has put the Ben Simmons saga behind him. “I did a lot of chasing around trying to get him back and try to make him feel comfortable again,” Embiid told ESPN’s Malika Andrews on Tuesday of his former teammate. “It was tough. “I didn’t care anymore.” Simmons was involved in a messy exit from Philadelphia after he requested a trade and then sat out for months while racking up fines and refusing to play…. Ben Simmons breaks silence on trade

Ben Simmons handed out a few answers after an elongated holdout and last week’s trade to the Brooklyn Nets. The 2016 No. 1 overall pick told reporters his mental health had nothing to do with the deal, but that things had piled up during his tenure with the Philadelphia 76ers that forced his way out. “It piled up a bunch of things over the years where I knew I wasn’t myself and I had to get back to that place of being myself and being happy as a person and taking care of my well-being,” Source link

Ben Roethlisberger, how will you remember him?

Or will you remember him as a man twice accused of sexual assault? Will you remember him as a cinderblock-shaped comeback artist? Or will you remember him as the target of an NFL investigation that saw him suspended four games, despite the fact that one of the cases against him was settled and the other… Source link

Google Maps Shows Users “Potentially Fatal” Route on Ben Nevis

In this May 2000 file photograph, sheep graze at the base of Ben Nevis in Scotland. Photo: Lisa Marie Pane (AP) A few years ago, instead of leading my best friend and I through a lovely and picturesque Spanish mountain trail, Google Maps took us to an isolated field with some cows. While I learned then not trust the internet when it comes to nature, it appears that an increasing number of visitors to the Scottish mountain Ben Nevis continue to do so, which could endanger their lives. Google Maps suggests ‘potentially fatal’ routes up Ben Nevis, say mountain charities | Google Maps

Scottish mountaineering charities have criticised Google for suggesting routes up Ben Nevis and other mountains they say are “potentially fatal” and direct people over a cliff. The John Muir Trust, which looks after the upper reaches of the UK’s highest mountain, said attempts to contact the company over the issue had been met with silence. The charity said certain searches for routes up Ben Nevis on Google Maps directed users to the car park nearest the summit as the crow flies, and… Source link
