The latest version of Google Chrome has an amazingly handy new feature: live captions. Basically, it’s like closed captioning on your TV but it works on any audio or video that you’re watching on the web – even livestreams. Google is using its machine learning smarts to make it all happen. The feature was first introduced on the Pixel smartphone a few years back. Apple has added a service that lets you automatically transfer photos, videos, and albums from your iCloud Photo Library to Google Photos (via MacRumors). The feature has a support document outlining the procedure, which simply entails going to privacy.apple.com, logging in, and going through the “transfer a copy of your data” process. Last year, Google own Phone app introduced a new call recording feature that only works with Pixel devices and select Nokia and Xiaomi phones. A recording button appears in the ongoing call screen that plays back a voice, notifying both parties that the call is being recorded. The decision affects anyone who uses a free Yahoo Mail account. As ZDNet reports, the removal of the feature happens on Jan 1, 2021.
