The Internal Revenue Service is distributing a second batch of stimulus payments with direct deposits expected to hit bank accounts as late as Wednesday. More than 90 million stimulus payments were sent last week in the first batch.
“Today marks the second batch of payments, with additional payments anticipated on a weekly basis going forward,” the Treasury Department said in a press release on Monday. “The vast majority of taxpayers receiving EIPs will receive it by direct deposit.”
