Stock futures retreat after S&P 500 logs new record high

Stock futures opened slightly lower Thursday evening after a record-setting session earlier in the day, with strong earnings results and more encouraging economic data helping support the latest leg higher in risk assets.  Contracts on the S&P 500 edged down, after the index closed at an all-time high of more than 4,200 earlier in the session.
