Las Vegas Raiders running back Kenyan Drake suffered a broken ankle in their 17-15 loss to the Washington Football Team on Sunday, according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Drake will miss the rest of the season. Drake went down midway through the second quarter at Allegiant Stadium when he was stuffed at the line of scrimmage after a handoff near midfield. Javonte Williams shines, more Week 13 recap

5 Things I care about Javonte Williams aces the first test It was always destined to be this way. With Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock as the only possible quarterback “answers” in 2021, the Denver Broncos‘ offense was designed to disappoint relative to its talent. Javonte Williams’ breakout game was just a reminder of that ability. The rookie cruised to 100 yards from scrimmage with ease, ripping off big plays via the run and pass game. He shone like a bright star even as his team put up… Source link

Chiefs roll over Broncos to claim fifth straight win

The Denver Broncos had plenty of opportunities on Sunday night. But time and again, they couldn’t capitalize. The Kansas City Chiefs cruised to a dominant 22-9 win over the Broncos on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium behind a huge defensive showing, which gave them their fifth straight win and their 12th straight over the Broncos — a streak that dates back to 2015. Patrick Mahomes got the Chiefs on the board first, running in a 10-yard touchdown to cap their 12-play opening drive with a… Source link

A few miles from the Mercedes Benz Dome, University of Miami officials met with Clemson athletic director Dan Radakovich about becoming the school’s next AD. While plotting that move, they’d already begun feverishly and clumsily putting together an… Source link

Antonio Brown has power in Bucs’ vaccination mess

Bruce Arian says he’s pissed off. It makes for a good sound bite in the wake of two players lying to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers about their COVID-19 vaccination status. But wideout Antonio Brown and safety Mike Edwards are still on Arians’ roster today, which is a place neither would be if anyone in power actually wanted them gone. That has been the simplest of truths in the NFL when it comes to COVID or vaccination or even honesty in general. If someone is important enough in the overall… Source link

Dan Campbell, Lions pay tribute to Oxford victims

The Detroit Lions hadn’t won a game in nearly a year (364 days to be exact). Dan Campbell, their rookie head coach, had never been victorious in Detroit. His quarterback, Jared Goff, also new to the team, was oh-fer as a Lion. Same for a bunch of teammates. Detroit is the worst team in the NFL, the butt of jokes and frustration. When the Lions blew a lead to Minnesota on Sunday afternoon, it looked like more of the same. They were staring down a humiliating, winless season until Goff… Source link
