The San Francisco 49ers were forced to turn back to Jimmy Garoppolo after starting quarterback Trey Lance was carted off with an ankle injury in the first quarter of their Week 2 match with the Seattle Seahawks. The 49ers already announced Lance won’t return to the game.
Lance looked to have hurt his ankle on a designed run play on second-and-8 at the Seahawks’ 21-yard line. He was immediately given an air cast and carted off of the field.
