Intel’s new chip plans could turn rival AMD’s fortunes- analysts

(Corrects typographical error in paragraph 4) By Chavi Mehta and Nivedita Balu (Reuters) – Intel Corp’s latest focus on making chips to meet rising demand will give Advanced Micro Devices Inc, its biggest rival in the server and PC market, a chance to build a greater foothold in the segment, analysts said. Intel, which plans large investments in chip technologies in the next four years, said on Thursday it expects revenue from its segment housing PCs to grow in low to mid single digits, and its… Source link

From the Newmaverse: Inflation exaggeration

The Wall Street Journal ran a story about high gas prices on Feb. 17, with a photo of pump prices ranging from $4.79 to $5.49. I looked at the caption, and sure enough, it was a photo of a station in California, where gas prices are the highest in the nation, by far. The national average is more than a dollar lower, at around $3.50 That brought to mind Steve Capo of Englewood, Fla., near Sarasota, who writes to Yahoo Finance regularly to comment on exaggerations and mischaracterizations he… Source link

Yahoo Mock Draft: Packers Take Houston DL Logan Hall in First Round

GREEN BAY, Wis. – A first-round pick in 2016, Kenny Clark has carried the Green Bay Packers’ defensive line for most of his six NFL seasons. It’s just not a position the Packers have dedicated a lot of resources. Over the last eight drafts, Clark is the only defensive lineman they’ve selected within the first 90 picks. Could that change this year? A lot of that depends on Green Bay’s list of needs following free agency, but it’s a possibility. In Yahoo’s latest mock draft, the… Source link

Surprising number of QBs in Round 1

You’ve heard the narrative: The 2022 NFL draft is not a strong quarterback class. But we’re here to tell you that even if that is true, it might not matter. Teams need quarterbacks. A lot of teams. Tom Brady retired (we think). So did Ben Roethlisberger. The Colts appear ready to move on from Carson Wentz. The Titans might feel the same about Ryan Tannehill. Several other clubs might seek long-term answers at the position. And what about the supply? Aaron Rodgers might stay put. So could Source link

Crypto should be regulated by CFTC, not SEC, Treasury: Ex-official

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission, rather than the Securities and Exchanges Commission or the U.S. Treasury, should supervise cryptocurrency markets, its former chairman told Yahoo Finance in an interview on Friday. As the debate over digital token oversight takes shape and the White House prepares an overarching strategy, J. Christopher Giancarlo said it’s time for Congress to take the lead and permit his former agency to run point on the asset class’ regulation. An inter-agency… Source link
