Four cents per gram? Outdoor pot is piling up in a ‘constipated’ market

Growing cannabis under the free rays of the sun costs a fraction of indoor or greenhouse cultivation. But outdoor producers have yet to sell millions worth of last year’s harvest, and at least one has slashed its expected selling price amid an oversupplied market. Indoor and greenhouse-grown pot make up the vast majority of legal cannabis in Canada, since it can be grown year round under far more controlled conditions. But more producers are turning to the great outdoors to push cultivation… Source link

Many Americans would get more in GOP’s second round of payments

Americans who got a first stimulus check would likely get a second one under the GOP’s new proposal. In several instances, some individuals would get more money. The Republican plan unveiled on Monday proposes sending a second wave of stimulus checks of up to $1,200 to Americans, plus an additional $500 for any dependent — a key departure from the first round.  That means parents of older high schoolers and college students claimed as dependents would get the bonus, as well as those… Source link

NFL and MLB have different attitudes on COVID-19 policies

Major League Baseball was the canary in the coal mine. If something was capable of going sideways for a league operating without a bubble during the COVID-19 pandemic, baseball would send a warning to the NFL. Football executives didn’t expect it to come so soon in the season — after a single weekend baseball series — nor did they anticipate the warning to be a full-blown air raid siren. But here we are, with the Miami Marlins already teetering on the brink with 15 players and two… Source link
