NFL exec claims Patriots have ‘worst group of skill players’ in football

NFL exec: Patriots have ‘worst group of skill players’ in football originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston The New England Patriots have had some of the NFL’s most explosive and highest-scoring offenses over the last two decades. The 2020 version is sagging behind immensely. This year’s Patriots offense has many issues, but the biggest problem is probably a glaring lack of high-end talent at running back, wide receiver and tight end — aka, the skill positions. Rays change everything on Brett Phillips’ swing

Despite everything else that had to happen, the most magical, most surprising, most storybook part of the whole game was simply that Brett Phillips got that hit.  Mapped by win probability, the 17 ⅔ frames that came before it look like an electrocardiogram for the heartbeat of a Los Angeles Dodgers or Tampa Bay Rays fan as the two best teams in baseball repeatedly wrested the lead back from one another. In the first three games of the World Series, there was not a single lead change. Every… Source link

Follow him, a man fighting for assurance in a game that won’t wait for him to be what he was. That can’t. And now he’s standing in the chaos that comes from good pitches, bad pitches, good and bad luck, broken bats and severed faith, on a team that for a few dreadful seconds Saturday night looked like it was trying to win three World Series instead of just one. Follow Jansen, the… Source link

Penn State, Ohio State and more

There’s so much to like about what James Franklin has done at Penn State. He’s rebuilt the program from the throes of NCAA probation, turned the Nittany Lions into a consistent College Football Playoff contender and brought a sense of football normalcy to a town and program that desperately needed it.  Franklin is one of the sport’s top-10 coaches, something that can’t be questioned after his resuscitation of Vanderbilt and resurrection of Penn State. He’s won 70% of his games at… Source link

Brusdar Graterol’s slider down the middle called a ball

Pardon stating the obvious, but World Series games are important. Important enough that every plate appearance, every pitch is important. Championship-deciding. Basically, they are not the time you want to see a pitch thrown straight down the middle of strike zone called a ball. And yet, late in Game 4 of the 2020 World Series, home plate umpire Chris Guccione delivered one of the biggest endorsements for robot umpires you will ever see. It happened in the eighth inning, with two men on and… Source link
