Tiger Woods sheds walking boot in rare public appearance alongside young athlete with cancer

Tiger Woods has understandably kept a low profile since the February car crash that left him with substantial leg injuries. He’s made social media appearances, including a congratulatory tweet to his old rival Phil Mickelson for his PGA Championship victory on Sunday. But until this week, he’s only been known to show himself in public once — an April photo on crutches that he shared on Instagram.  On Monday, a new photo of Woods surfaced on social media. This one he didn’t provide. It was… Source link

The airline recovery is looking K-shaped

As vaccinations increase and the reopening continues, the battered travel industry is getting back in the air. But unsurprisingly, the recovery is once again K-shaped — some sub-sectors are doing much better than others. According to Jefferies senior research analyst Sheila Kahyaoglu, total U.S. airline traffic is around 40% of what it was at the same time in 2019. But the difference between destinations is stark: international is down 67% and domestic is only 22% lower. “International is… Source link

You had COVID-19. Should you get vaccinated? Rand Paul says no. Scientists say yes.

Before he was Kentucky’s junior senator, Rand Paul was a practicing ophthalmologist. So when the doctor turned Republican lawmaker recently announced that he would not be getting vaccinated for COVID-19 because he already has “natural immunity,” some Americans may have assumed he was following the science. He wasn’t. “Until they show me evidence that people who have already had the infection are dying in large numbers or being hospitalized or getting very sick,” Paul told radio… Source link

McConnell and McCarthy rebuke Greene for Holocaust remarks but stop short of taking action against rising GOP star

Republican leaders in Congress sought to distance themselves Tuesday from comments made by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., that compared House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s mask mandate in the House of Representatives to the killing of 6 million Jews in the Holocaust by Nazi Germany.  The controversy was just the latest in a series of incendiary comments from Greene that stretch back to before she was elected last year. “Marjorie is wrong, and her intentional decision to compare the horrors of… Source link
