Autistic boy found ‘safe and well’ after frantic search

Police have located an autistic 14-year-old boy who was reported missing on Friday night.

There were concerns for the welfare of the boy after he was last seen leaving his home in South Sydney on Queens Road in Brighton Le Sands, about 8.40pm.

However, on Sunday afternoon, NSW Police said on Facebook the boy had been located “safe and well” at about 2pm.

In a previous media release, police said it was believed the boy used public transport and may have travelled to the Newcastle area.
