Disputed no-call derails TCU’s upset bid

After his program came devastatingly close to its first Sweet 16 in 54 years, TCU men’s basketball coach Jamie Dixon tried his best not to blame the loss on the referees. Not once did he complain about the disputed no-call that robbed his team of the chance to potentially finish off top-seeded Arizona at the free-throw line. “I mean, I think everybody’s seen it and is talking about it,” Dixon said when reporters asked if he thought a foul should have been called. “We’re gonna handle it the… Source link

McDonald’s (MCD) is bringing back its fan-favorite Szechuan Sauce. Beginning on March 31, and for “only a few days,” the sauce will be available for free with any Chicken McNuggets order at U.S. locations. There’s a catch though, the dipping sauce will only be sold via the McDonald’s app. This is the sauce’s fourth return to the Golden Arches since its debut 24 years ago as a promotional tie-in to Disney’s animated movie “Mulan.” The sauce made a cult-fan comeback 20 years later, in 2017,… Source link

Miami upsets Auburn, advances to Sweet 16

With just over six minutes left for his team to save its season on Sunday night, Auburn coach Bruce Pearl made an eye-opening decision. He substituted for Walker Kessler with the second-seeded Tigers trailing by 10, benching the all-SEC 7-footer to go with a smaller lineup. While 10th-seeded Miami had to wait a little while longer to celebrate a 79-61 victory and an improbable berth in the Sweet 16, Pearl’s desperation move was the equivalent of him raising a white flag. In a second-round… Source link

Duke, Mike Krzyzewski survive Michigan St.

Michigan State was game for the moment. But Duke’s talent was ultimately too much to overcome on Sunday in a high-profile NCAA men’s tournament game that saw the Blue Devils secure an 85-76 victory to keep Mike Krzyzewski’s coaching career alive. Duke fought off a barrage of Michigan State 3-pointers and a late Spartans rally to secure Krzyzewski’s 1,200th career victory, 26th Sweet 16 and one last win over his friend and rival Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo. Duke held Michigan State at bay… Source link
