How do you counteract vaccine misinformation? Ohio State faculty member gets Google grant to explore solutions

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Research shows that people are more likely to change their minds when political misinformation is corrected, but not when misinformation about health is corrected — a problem for the coronavirus vaccine rollout.

Ohio State University political science assistant professor Thomas Wood, studies misinformation. His next project is working on how journalists and social media outlets can fight misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine, with part of a $450,000 grant from Google.
