Google Is Building Its Huge Private Subsea Cable Infrastructure

Google announced its plans to build a new subsea cable with landing points in New York in the U.S. and Bude, U.K. and Bilbao, Spain in Europe. Tech giant first revealed the Curie project last January, alongside two other new cables as first major non-telecom company to build a private international cable. 

The cable — named Grace Hopper after the American computer programming pioneer — will provide “better resilience for the network that underpins Google’s consumer and enterprise…
