Saints QB Taysom Hill leaves with foot injury

The New Orleans Saints were very much alive for a playoff spot on Sunday afternoon, but their hopes of doing anything in the playoffs looked a lot murkier before they knew if they’d made the postseason.  The Saints lost quarterback Taysom Hill to a Lisfranc injury to his foot, New Orleans coach Sean Payton told Fox sideline reporter Laura Okmin. Nobody had given up on Trevor Lawrence. But before the Jacksonville Jaguars‘ final game this season, Lawrence looked very little like the star he was touted to be.  Blame Urban Meyer or Lawrence’s teammates or the Jaguars in general for a bad rookie season, but it has been a bad rookie season. Bucs reach 4-year, $73M extension with DT Vita Vea

Vita Vea is staying in Florida. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers reached a four-year, $73 million extension with the defensive tackle on Saturday night, the team announced.
