Cowboys have miserable end in sloppy loss to 49ers

On Dec. 26, in a prime-time game, the Dallas Cowboys beat Washington by 42 points. While the hype after that game was out of control, it was justified. The Cowboys looked Super Bowl-worthy.  A few weeks later, that same team went one-and-done in the playoffs.   The Cowboys are on an improbable streak. They haven’t played in a conference championship game since the end of the 1995 season. This failure will linger for a long time. It’s a team that had the offensive and defensive stars to make… Source link

Westbrook, Lakers unbothered by Magic Johnson’s criticism

Russell Westbrook isn’t bothered by Magic Johnson’s opinion of his and the Los Angeles Lakers’ recent performance. Though he didn’t mention Johnson by name, LeBron James may have taken it to heart — as he actually apologized to Lakers fans on Sunday. Johnson ripped the Lakers after their 37-point loss to the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night, which marked the second-worst loss of LeBron James’ career. “After being blown out by the Nuggets 133-96, we as Lakers fans can accept being… Source link

Bucs dominate Eagles, as Jalen Hurts struggles

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers answered many questions about their postseason preparedness with a dominant wild-card victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. On the flip side, following a 31-15 loss to the Buccaneers, the Eagles enter their offseason with major questions after they were outplayed in all phases of the game. Their biggest question is with quarterback Jalen Hurts. The Bucs have no such concerns. Tom Brady was his typically efficient self despite taking hits, completing 29 of 37 passes for… Source link

Refs from Raiders-Bengals game done for playoffs

The referees took center stage in Saturday’s AFC wild-card playoff game between the Las Vegas Raiders and Cincinnati Bengals, but it looks like no other teams will have to deal with that particular crew for the rest of the postseason.  According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, that referee crew, headed by Jerome Boger, isn’t likely to receive high marks for its performance in Saturday’s game, and isn’t expected to be assigned to work any other games in the playoffs this season. Boger’s crew became… Source link

Eagles hit with questionable roughing call

Tom Brady‘s hard enough to beat in the playoffs as is.  When he’s getting help from officials? Good luck. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers started Sunday’s wild-card game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a touchdown on their opening drive. They may not have gained a first down if not for a questionable roughing-the-passer penalty on Eagles defensive end Derek Barnett. As Brady released an incomplete pass on Tampa Bay’s second play from scrimmage, Barnett hit the Bucs quarterback.  It wasn’t late…. Source link

Photos of him with fans in the stands made the rounds on social media during the game.  But an image that surfaced Sunday morning shows why he’s beloved in Buffalo despite never winning more than six games in a single season as the… Source link

Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Josh Sweat will not play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, the team has announced in a statement. He underwent an “emergency procedure” on Tuesday to address a “life-threatening situation.” The Eagles didn’t release any information about what “life-threatening” medical situation Sweat was facing.
