Chiefs are 7.5-point favorites over Bengals

Oddsmakers aren’t putting much stock in the Bengals’ regular-season win over the Chiefs. Kansas City is a 7.5-point favorite over Cincinnati in the AFC championship game despite the Bengals’ 34-31 win in Week 17. The Chiefs are hosting the AFC title game for a record fourth consecutive season after defeating the Buffalo Bills, 42-36, in an overtime thriller that will go down as one of the best playoff games in NFL history. Overtime needs to change after KC-Buffalo classic

The greatest game in NFL history turned on a coin flip. Fine, you can question whether Sunday night’s divisional showdown between victorious Kansas City and heartbroken Buffalo was one of the greatest ever. Good luck finding another one with 25 points scored on four different successful all-or-nothing, score-or-go-home drives in the final two minutes. But this is indisputable: the NFL’s overtime gives an enormous advantage to whichever team wins the coin flip. Three years ago, Chiefs fans… Source link

Tom Brady retirement speculation now the topic in Tampa

Tom Brady had been spitting blood and spitting mad, but now he was just in a familiar spot, staring down a fourth-quarter comeback in the fading light of a January Sunday. Forty-four years old, 22 seasons into his NFL career, and it was like nothing had changed. That 27-3 deficit his Tampa Bay Buccaneers faced against these Los Angeles Rams? Ha. He’d made 28-3 famous once. That ferocious, forceful pass rush led by Von Miller, who’d busted up Brady’s lip in the second quarter? You wipe the… Source link

Rams win late thriller over Bucs after nearly blowing it

The Los Angeles Rams beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 30-27, in Sunday’s divisional playoff game at Raymond James Stadium, sending Tom Brady home for the remainder of the playoffs and Matthew Stafford into his first conference championship game. And what a thriller it ended up. Grayson Allen suspended for hard foul on Alex Caruso

The NBA is suspending Milwaukee Bucks guard Grayson Allen one game for a flagrant foul that broke Chicago Bulls guard Alex Caruso‘s wrist.  The Bucks “disagree” with the decision. The incident happened in the third quarter of Milwaukee’s 94-90 win on Friday. With 5:45 remaining in the quarter, Caruso drove to the basket on a fast break. Allen jumped to meet Caruso at the rim, swiped at his ball hand with his left hand, then threw Caruso to the floor with his right hand.  “It was really bad…. Source link

Tom Brady gets first unsportsmanlike penalty for arguing

Everyone already knew Tom Brady got away with a lot of talking to officials during a game, mostly complaining about non-calls against him.  Officials probably didn’t like hearing Brady brag publicly about how much they let him get away with.  A couple days after Brady said that he gets away with “talking smack to the refs when I don’t think I get the right call,” he got the first unsportsmanlike conduct penalty of his career, according to NBC’s Al Michaels. Los Angeles Rams linebacker Von… Source link

Ndamukong Suh says Matthew Stafford kicked him

Ndamukong Suh is no stranger to kicking headlines. Just not like this.  The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle known as much for his flagrant foot as his Pro Bowl prowess was involved in another incident early in Sunday’s playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams. This time, he was the recipient. That’s his version of the story, at least.  Suh got pressure on Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford on a pass play in the first quarter. Stafford got rid of the ball right before Suh hit him. He… Source link
