Jaguars’ hiring puts Shad Khan in bad light

The best lie the NFL ever told is that the league is a meritocracy. For the players? Sure, most of them at least. But anyone else? Heck no. Not for head coaches, unless you think it’s just a happy coincidence nearly a third of this year’s group is of blood relation to another current or former coach. Not for assistant coaches, who usually get their jobs because of who they’re related to or whose father they married or who they worked with two or three stops previous. And it absolutely,… Source link

Taysom Hill leads Week 14 winners

The NFL is a game of stars. We know their names, we know their faces, we know their allure and their magnetism. Fantasy football is a game about numbers. Sometimes you get them from a star, sometimes you don’t. It really doesn’t matter. Just score more than your opponent. Taysom Hill, this is your moment. Taysom Hill showed the power of the running quarterback The early window of Week 14 wasn’t particularly elegant. A lot of games were blowouts and plenty of stars disappointed. But at the… Source link

Urban Meyer complains about leaks after Jaguars loss

Urban Meyer’s career as an NFL head coach has basically devolved into the old joke about Russian history: “And then, things got worse.” In a week that started with Meyer already on possibly the hottest seat in the NFL, the Jacksonville Jaguars reacted to a mid-week, off-field embarrassment with another on-field embarrassment, this time a 20-0 shutout loss to the Tennessee Titans. The Titans might have still been missing their most important weapons in Derrick Henry and A.J. Brown, but it was… Source link

Micah Parson is a star for Cowboys

Last season, the Dallas Cowboys‘ defense was a joke. It allowed 473 points, the most in franchise history.  There are many reasons the Cowboys’ defense has now become a reason for optimism heading toward the postseason. A coordinator change to Dan Quinn helped a lot. Trevon Diggs became a Pro Bowl-level corner in his second season. But no rookie, on offense or defense, has made a bigger impact than Micah Parsons.  Parsons doesn’t look like a rookie. He looks like an All-Pro. He had a play… Source link

Jim Harbaugh thinks Aidan Hutchinson will go No. 1 overall

At Saturday night’s Heisman Trophy ceremony, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh said he believes defensive end Aidan Hutchinson will be the first overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft. Sure, Harbaugh is biased. But that doesn’t mean he’s wrong. In a draft cycle where there doesn’t appear to be a clear-cut QB prospect worth taking first overall, Hutchinson has emerged as a viable candidate to land in the top spot. In 13 games this season, he’s had 14 sacks, three passes defended, two forced fumbles… Source link

Cowboys bring own heated benches to FedEx Field

Since every little detail and potential advantage matters, the Dallas Cowboys are taking no chances.  The organization brought in its own heated benches for Sunday’s showdown against NFC East rival Washington Football Team at FedEx Field. For all that effort, it sure sounds like it’s an ultra chilly December day in the District, then, no?  The temperature for the 1 p.m. ET kickoff is anticipated to be 47 degrees and sunny, according to the National Weather Service. Maybe a bit chilly to… Source link

Charlie Munger: This market is ‘even crazier’ than the dot-com bust — here are 3 contrarian stocks to help you sidestep the herd Berkshire Hathaway Vice Chairman Charlie Munger tends to be much more direct with his warnings and criticisms than his business partner, Warren Buffett.
