Microsoft launches Google Wave – TechCrunch

Microsoft is bringing back Google Wave, the doomed real-time messaging and collaboration platform Google launched in 2009 and prematurely shuttered in 2010. Maybe we should’ve seen this coming. Back in 2019, Microsoft announced the Fluid Framework (not to be confused with the Fluent design system). The idea here was nothing short of trying to re-invent the nature of business documents and how developers build real-time applications. Last year, the company open-sourced Fluid and… Source link

HONG KONG (AP) — Yahoo Inc. said Tuesday it has pulled out of China, citing an increasingly challenging operating environment. But recent government moves to expand its control over tech companies generally, including its domestic giants, may have tipped the scales for Yahoo. “In recognition of the increasingly challenging business and legal environment in China,… Source link

Ahead of its debut next week, I decided to try out the McPlant here in the UK, where it’s been available in selected restaurants for over a month. The TLDR review is that it tastes like… a McDonald’s burger. I’ve had… Source link

Yahoo pulls out of China for good

It pulled the plug “in recognition of the increasingly challenging business and legal environment,” a Yahoo spokesperson said in a statement. “Yahoo remains committed to the rights of our users and a free and open internet. We thank our users for their support.” Access to many of Yahoo’s features in China have disappeared since 2013, including email and news. In 2015, Yahoo closed its Beijing office and eliminated roughly 300 jobs. Yahoo joins Microsoft’s (MSFT) LinkedIn social network, which… Source link
