U.S. markets regulator approves Nasdaq proposal to require corporate board diversity

By Jessica DiNapoli NEW YORK (Reuters) – The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approved a proposal from stock exchange operator Nasdaq Inc that requires its listed companies to have diverse boards, or explain why they do not. Novavax CEO explains delay in COVID-19 vaccine EUA filing

Novavax (NVAX) announced Thursday it would have to push back its COVID-19 vaccine emergency use authorization (EAU) filing with the FDA by about one month, once again, this time due to manufacturing quality concerns. Strong July jobs report points to Fed taper this year

A better-than-expected jobs report for July shows the economy may soon be ready to run with reduced support from the Federal Reserve. Data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released Friday morning showed 943,000 non-farm payroll gains last month, with the unemployment rate falling to 5.4%. Online car buying is booming, according to this auto dealer

More mobile consumers after getting a COVID-19 vaccine hasn’t slowed the online car buying boom that the pandemic helped create. At least that’s a takeaway from the second quarter earnings out of online car-selling leader Carvana (CVNA). Carvana said Thursday evening that it sold 107,815 retail units in the second quarter, up 96% from a year ago. It marked the company’s first time selling over 100,000 units.
