Mariners pitcher becomes first player ejected under sticky substances rule

It was only a matter of time until a pitcher failed a spot check in MLB’s new foreign substances crackdown, and that time has come.  Seattle Mariners pitcher Hector Santiago was ejected on Sunday afternoon after umpires checked his glove in the fifth inning and presumably found something that shouldn’t have been there.  While Santiago’s frowny face reaction is pretty great, the best part of that video is the bagging of the suspicious glove. Arkansas officer dies after being run over and dragged by fleeing vehicle

An Arkansas police officer was pronounced dead on Saturday after he was run over and dragged by a fleeing vehicle. Around noon, Officer Kevin Apple approached a driver in Benton County when a suspect rammed a police cruiser and drove over the law enforcement veteran in Benton County, according to Arkansas Online. Two suspects have since been arrested, Shawna Rhae Cash, 22, and Elijah Anadoloza Sr., 18, one of whom faces capital murder charges, while the other faces attempted capital murder… Source link
