Tua Tagovaila benched for Ryan Fitzpatrick; still the starter

With the Miami Dolphins trailing the Denver Broncos, 20-10 in the fourth quarter Sunday, head coach Brian Flores replaced rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa with Ryan Fitzpatrick. The Broncos held on for a 20-13 victory after the quarterback switch. Tagovailoa had his ankle rolled on a sack before leaving the game, but showed little sign of injury as he remained standing on the sideline when Fitzpatrick took his place. It was the sixth sack of the day taken by Tagovailoa. The Dolphins rookie… Source link

Futures flat as Wall Street consolidates, COVID-19 extends surge

Stock futures were flat to slightly weaker on Sunday evening, as investors weighed new COVID-19 infections — which are leading to rising deaths and a record number of hospitalizations across the U.S. — against the rapidly unfolding timetable for the deployment of a vaccine. Investors have been broadly encouraged by the steady flow of positive news over a coronavirus cure. Pfizer (PFE) and BioNTech (BNTX) said on Friday they plan to file for an emergency use authorization with the U.S…. Source link

Why Gold Could Be Heading To $5000

Gold prices were already on a tear amid wild pandemic, economic and electoral uncertainty, with big banks predicting $3,000 gold … Or even $5,000 gold … Right before Biden’s electoral victory, JPMorgan had called another 5% price hike in a “blue wave”. Though Trump loves gold and adorns everything with the precious metal, the precious metal itself was banking on a Biden win. Why? Because what it loves more than anything is the Biden-backed promise of monetary stimulus.  Historically,… Source link

Lions get beat by XFL QB refugee

The Houston Roughnecks had a proud Sunday. The Detroit Lions did not. The Roughnecks, one of the teams in the defunct (for now, the league plans to be back in 2022) second run of the XFL, saw their old quarterback P.J. Walker help get the Carolina Panthers a 20-0 win over the Lions on Sunday. Teddy Bridgewater couldn’t play due to a knee injury, so Walker, who was Houston’s starting quarterback in the XFL and one of the league’s stars, got the start. Walker, an undersized quarterback out… Source link

For a long time, I felt my digital photos weren’t nearly as well organized as other areas of my life.  That situation changed overnight with Google Photos.  Google Photos is in the news because of a change in its policy — it will no longer be free for unlimited storage. Like any other service that has been free and begins to charge, confusion arises. This… Source link

Bloomberg China to Take Oil-Refining Crown Held by U.S. Since 19th Century (Bloomberg) — Earlier this month, Royal Dutch Shell Plc pulled the plug on its Convent refinery in Louisiana. Unlike many oil refineries shut in recent years, Convent was far from obsolete: it’s fairly big by U.S. standards and sophisticated enough to turn a wide range of crude oils into high-value fuels. Yet Shell, the world’s third-biggest oil major, wanted to radically reduce refining capacity and couldn’t… Source link

Editorial: The case against Google may be valid, as long as ideology is kept out of it. | Editorial

More than 80% of U.S. online searches happen on Google, creating an ad base worth around $160 billion annually. The government claims Google has used that dominant position to force deals that make it the default search engine in other companies’ devices, blocking competitors from ever getting their products in front of consumers. Critics say the harm to consumers can be seen in, for example, the proliferation of intrusive paid ads brought up by Google searches, to the point that the… Source link
