Google Drive web app is getting a dark theme

On the web, only a few Google apps and services offer a night mode. Google Drive is now the latest to introduce a dark theme.  Once available, you’ll be prompted by “New! Dark mode” to “Continue to enjoy Drive in the dark.” Afterwards, tap the gear icon in the top-right corner > Settings > General > Appearance. It does not automatically follow your device theme. Google Search is phasing out its ‘cached’ web page feature

One of Google Search‘s oldest and best-known features, cache links, are being retired, Google’s search liaison said in an X post seen by The Verge. Google ended 2022 as it ends every year, as the most visited website in the world. Its estimated share of the search engine market stands at 92% (Microsoft‘s Bing is its closest rival, on 3%). On the surface, it might not like a landscape that’s ripe for change but don’t be so sure. The launch of ChatGPT,… Source link

Google Account switcher on the web gets Material You redesign

After debuting in Messages on Android, the Google Account switcher on the web is getting a Material You redesign. It features rounded corners for all elements with two main containers. The foreground one features a larger profile avatar with name and email address next to it followed by a “Manage your Google Account” button that’s housed in a rounded rectangle instead of the usual pill.  If you’re signed into more than one account, that appears next with “Add another… Source link
