A winter storm has dumped more than a foot of snow on some parts of Massachusetts on Sunday. Heavy snow is expected in northern Massachusetts and the Merrimack Valley. Up to 15 inches of snow will fall in the “jackpot” area of the storm while the southern bands can see 5 -8 inches and 3-5 inches of snow extending down through Norfolk County. It took a little help from her teammate, but speedskater Erin Jackson brought home a gold medal at the Beijing Olympics. Jackson posted a 37.04 time in the 500-meter event, narrowly beating Japan’s Miho Takagi to win gold. Jackson nearly didn’t make it to Beijing.
