Goldman Sachs estimates that about 3.4 million are likely gone for good due to retirements, meaning that 1.7 million people are open to returning to work. Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh says the Biden administration’s new vaccine requirements will help boost the labor force participation rate. On Friday, the Labor Department said the labor force participation rate was unchanged in October, at 61.6%.
