Google is messing with Driving Mode again, and I’ve had enough of this nonsense

Google is messing with Driving Mode again, and I’ve had enough of this nonsense

Google doesn’t like me. That’s the only assumption I can make when it consistently finds ways to make my life more difficult. Google+, Inbox, Pixelbook, these are dead Google products that I love, but at least I could find alternatives for them easily enough. The same can’t be said for driving apps. Google has messed with its driving apps for the worse twice now, and it looks like it’s about to happen again. What came before Google’s first solution to create a driving… Source link

(Photo: Netflix) Freddie Prinze Jr. has been one of Hollywood’s most prominent Latino actors since his ’90s teen movie heyday. But over the course of his quarter-century career, the son of late comedian and sitcom star, Freddie Prinze, has rarely had the opportunity to represent his culture onscreen. “I’ve received nothing but love from Latino taxi drivers to business owners talking about being… Source link

‘The worst human being I’ve ever profiled was Roy Cohn’

Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein is on trial for sex crimes this week in Los Angeles. The 70-year-old is already serving a 23-year prison sentence after a jury convicted him of rape in New York, and reportedly at least 100 women have accused him of rape or sexual assault. On a recent episode of “Influencers with Andy Serwer,” the New Yorker staff writer Ken Auletta compared Weinstein to another “evil” yet talented person he profiled — the late Roy Cohn, a key figure during the Red… Source link

Commanders RB Brian Robinson recounts ‘ ‘lowest point I’ve ever been in my life’ and ‘beautiful’ return to practice after shooting

At 5:28 p.m. on Aug. 28, Brian Robinson Jr. saw his football future flicker. Two teenage assailants approached Robinson on a crowded Washington D.C. street lined with restaurants and bars. They were brandishing guns and they intended to rob the Washington Commanders rookie running back, police say. Robinson fended off one attacker. The other shot Robinson twice, one bullet striking his right glute and the other passing through his right knee. Robinson’s injuries weren’t deemed… Source link

I’ve had the new iPhone 14 for 2 weeks. I should’ve listened to Steve Jobs’ daughter because I now regret buying it.

Tim Cook visits an Apple store in New York City on September 16.Kevin Mazur/Getty Images I bought the new iPhone 14 Pro Max the day after it went on sale in Apple stores. I got $640 back by trading in my iPhone 13 Pro Max, but I still had to pay another $780. I was excited about the “Dynamic Island” feature, but I should have listened to Eve Jobs. For the past decade or so, I’ve been one of Apple’s best customers. I’ve bought every new iPhone since I made the switch from a BlackBerry to the… Source link

‘I’ve got goosebumps just thinking about this year’

LOS ANGELES — To say Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis is eager to embark upon the 2022-23 season would be an understatement. “I’m so excited that I’ve got goosebumps just thinking about this year,” Davis told Yahoo Sports this week. “I’m looking forward to a healthy year and doing what I know we can do.” Having played in only 40 games due to injuries last season, and with the Lakers missing the playoffs altogether, the 29-year-old power forward said he’s on a mission to… Source link

Five years ago, following the death of a friend and bandmate, David Barberá decided to pay for a Google Drive cloud account. He wanted to store music files so that his friend’s children would one day hear how their father played. “So I signed up for the Google Drive service,” he says. “It was the safest thing that occurred to me so that Javi’s music would not be lost, as the children were very young then.” Barberá, a 46-year-old high school teacher from Valencia, in eastern… Source link

Iowa Hawkeyes sophomore Keegan Murray is a 6-foot-8 forward who is projected to be a top-five pick in the 2022 NBA draft. With the draft approaching on Thursday, the NCAA Power Forward of the Year and First Team All-American spoke to Yahoo Sports about the draft process, where he’s expected to go, being overlooked in high school and why he has a chip on his shoulder, almost going the JUCO route, his college rise, NBA teams he’s met with, the craziest question he was asked, his age being… Source link

With 1 Sentence, Google’s CEO Just Gave the Best Explanation of Success I’ve Heard Yet

On Tuesday, Google announced its earnings for the final quarter of 2021. Like many of its tech brethren, it was a very good quarter. Google reported record revenue of $75 million, most of which came from the company’s advertising business.  In fact, Google’s advertising business is so good that the company loses money on everything else, but still managed to post one of the most profitable quarters of any company, ever. For the three months ending in December, Google made almost $21 billion… Source link
