Spurs trade All-Star Dejounte Murray to Hawks

The San Antonio Spurs are trading All-Star point guard Dejounte Murray to the Atlanta Hawks for Danilo Gallinari and three first-round picks, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports. The Spurs will receive the Charlotte Hornets’ 2023 first-round pick from the Hawks in addition to Atlanta’s first-round picks in 2025 and 2027. The teams will also swap picks in 2026. Adreian Payne, former MSU big man and Hawks 1st-rounder, dies at 31

Adreian Payne, the former Michigan State big man and 2014 first-round pick of the Atlanta Hawks, has died at age 31. According to a press release from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Orlando, Fla., Payne was shot early Sunday morning and was pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital. The alleged shooter, Lawrence Dority, stayed at the scene of the crime and cooperated with police. After questioning, he was arrested and jailed on a charge of first-degree murder. Khris Middleton leads Bucks past Hawks

The Milwaukee Bucks looked in trouble twice on Sunday after digging holes to start each half against the Atlanta Hawks. Both times they persevered.  In a game of runs, the Bucks mounted a pair of rallies and rode a hot Khris Middleton down the stretch to secure a 113-102 Game 3 win over the Hawks. The NBA fined Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid $35,000 and suspended the Atlanta Hawks center Bruno Fernando one game without pay following the altercation between the teams in Game 6, the league announced on Sunday.  The 76ers and Hawks meet for Game 7 at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
