Zalatoris, Fitzpatrick lead crowded field

Like a crafty fighter lulling an opponent into complacency, The Country Club punched back hard on Saturday, rocking the game’s best and setting up a Sunday at the U.S. Open with no clear favorite. Winds picked up into the high teens. Greens dried out and thumped. The rough, allowed to grow, swallowed wayward shots and held on. The field as a whole shot nearly a stroke and a half worse than Friday’s average of 71.99, and the Friday night lead of -5 fell a stroke, to -4. At the beginning of the… Source link

Ryan Fitzpatrick, shirtless, cheered on Bills vs. Patriots

Ryan Fitzpatrick is technically still the Washington Football Team quarterback. In a wild final 10 minutes, the Miami Dolphins benched their quarterback, committed a critical defensive penalty and allowed an 85-yard TD. And they won, 26-25, saving their playoff hopes in what has been a miraculous season, moving their record to 10-5. The Las Vegas Raiders, who fell to 7-8, appeared to be ready to beat Miami and remain in the playoff race after Daniel Carlson’s field goal gave them a 25-22 lead with 19 seconds left. But the Raiders committed a terrible face mask penalty… Source link

Tua Tagovaila benched for Ryan Fitzpatrick; still the starter

With the Miami Dolphins trailing the Denver Broncos, 20-10 in the fourth quarter Sunday, head coach Brian Flores replaced rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa with Ryan Fitzpatrick. The Broncos held on for a 20-13 victory after the quarterback switch. Tagovailoa had his ankle rolled on a sack before leaving the game, but showed little sign of injury as he remained standing on the sideline when Fitzpatrick took his place. It was the sixth sack of the day taken by Tagovailoa. The Dolphins rookie… Source link
