Google today announced that it is adding a new movie editor and a few new video editing features to Google Photos, but for now these new features will only be available in the Android app running on Chromebooks. No word on when these features are coming to other platforms or why Google decided to go this way. Starting next week, editing PDFs on a Chromebook is going to be a breeze. Denmark is effectively banning Google’s services in schools, after officials in the municipality of Helsingør were last year ordered to carry out a risk assessment around the processing of personal data by Google. Google for Education has announced a new partnership with Figma. The companies will bring Figma’s design and prototyping platform as well as its collaborative whiteboarding app FigJam to education Chromebooks. Schools can apply now to the beta program, which will begin over the summer. Google has announced the Chrome OS 102 update for Chromebooks with new features. With the latest update, the tech giant is rolling out its note-taking app Cursive to all Chromebooks that work with a stylus. It launched the Cursive app to select devices last year. “The Cursive app makes it easy to capture, edit and organise handwritten notes on your Chromebook,” it said in a blog post. Recent Chrome OS updates have broken the camera on some Chromebooks for some users, as reported by About Chromebooks, but Google said Thursday it released a fix.
