Despite buyer protests in China over recent Tesla (TSLA) price cuts on the mainland, it seems the move overall has been a huge hit for the EV maker. Earlier this month Tesla cut prices in China, with the Chinese-made Model 3 falling by 13.5% to $33,515, and the Model Y dropping 10% to $37,899. The data is in, and it says stock buybacks are back in a big way as companies seek out ways to keep their stock prices at elevated levels.  First quarter stock repurchases clocked in at $178.1 billion among S&P 500 companies, up 36.5% from the fourth quarter of 2020, according to new data out Tuesday from S&P Global. Google is updating its augmented reality SDK so that phones with dual cameras can capture better depth information.
